SPEAKER_03Hey.
SPEAKER_02Hey, what's happening?
SPEAKER_03How much?
SPEAKER_02What are you doing?
SPEAKER_03I uh I'm not opening it on the mic anymore because he always complains. So I'm just doing it by myself.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_03There we go. I heard it. Um well you you claim you don't hear it. It was further away from the microphone. You just lion freak. Um Raspberry Smash. So is that for Cider Boys? Cider Boys, yeah. My last few of the Cider Boys ones.
SPEAKER_02Very cool. All right, ready? Yeah, right. Okay. But um sparkling ice.
SPEAKER_03Oh, yep.
SPEAKER_02Lime water. Good stuff. Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_03Alrighty.
SPEAKER_02So what what's the apps there, DW?
SPEAKER_03Um, not much. Oh, you're you're coming up on uh uh a very important day.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's getting close, getting close, getting close. Yeah, yeah. That's all I gotta say.
SPEAKER_03All right. And then we'll uh do you have your tuxedo t-shirt um printed?
SPEAKER_02Absolutely. Yeah. All ready to be tucked in and whatnot.
SPEAKER_03All right.
SPEAKER_02With my penny loafers.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Alright. Um what so what what's going on here?
SPEAKER_03We um well, not a lot this weekend because uh I mean, we're we're recording the this is gonna play later, and not everyone is from the Midwest that listens to us, but we've had um massive snow. Um, and this after a lot of people thought we were done with it for the year, and we got one more big, gigantic uh snowfall, and um a lot of stuff was canceled on Sunday, and a lot of schools were canceled today, and uh yeah, so I've I've not gone anywhere since Friday night. Damn. Um actually, no, I take that back. So oh, and actually, I I'm glad I thought of this. So I went and got groceries on Saturday. That was the most bare I've seen grocery store shelves since COVID. It was crazy. There was like no fruit, no bread. They were almost out of like, you know, canned or bottled water and uh just a bunch of other like random stuff that was on my list to get, they were out of. And it was it was crazy. And the thing is, I noticed that it wasn't um unlike COVID, it wasn't like pasta and canned goods and stuff like that. It was all the fresh stuff. People thought, oh, I'm gonna be. I mean, because you think about it, people were probably thinking, I'm gonna be in the house for a couple of days, I better get some fruits and vegetables. No one was thinking I've got to stockpile my bunker, you know, get beans and pasta and stuff like that. Oh, so those things they had plenty of.
SPEAKER_02See, me, I I am most of the time I eat pretty healthy, but when it comes to getting locked down, like in the snow, like it was it was pizza and chips and chocolate and donuts. That's that was my 48-hour diet. And I have to say it was amazing. Um I now get long for snow days, um, specifically for that reason, and I can't wait another year for for that snow.
SPEAKER_03So who knows? Well, and here's the thing here's what just I find fascinating about Minnesota. Uh, tomorrow the uh expected low is negative three, but Saturday the high is 60.
SPEAKER_02Yep.
SPEAKER_03That's I mean, so all of this crazy snow is gonna be gone in a matter of days.
SPEAKER_02Well, yeah, you don't like the weather in Minnesota, just wait five minutes. Yeah, yeah, and then in that five minutes, regret every life choice you had about Minnesota. Um all right, well, that's cool. Nothing much really going on here, pal. I'm just uh we're doing stuff and and we're we're doing scalarious again today. And today they're not gonna be stuck with just me and you.
SPEAKER_03Thank goodness.
SPEAKER_02I know, right? Yeah, we're gonna have some fun. Um, but first, before we uh you know get on to our guest, we had to talk about some things. Yeah, some pretty important things. Yep, yep, yeah, and that is where to get your scalarious merch. Okay, you know where to go? You know crowdmade.com forward slash scalarious, or just go to crowdmade.com and just search scalarious, but anyway, get everything that your little heart desires for scalarious merch right there at CrowdMade. You can get a um a dog bowl and a dog leash, which is something I might get for my sky lovey butt mcbaby boo-boo that we have here at at Casa de Betrothed or Casa de the other one, I guess. All right, you can get that. You we have t-shirts, so yeah, we have DW's favorite t-shirt, the old Cripers t-shirt. That's there on the scalarious page. Also, we have hoodies, we have hats, we have little beanies, you know. We have some with the helicopter on top. That's DW's favorite hat. We have that one, we have a ton of stuff. We should get that. Crowdmade.com.
SPEAKER_03Hang on, scalarious. What the the beanies have the little fuzzball on top, not the propellers. Okay, you you said a helicopter. I I just don't want anyone to be disappointed and be like, yeah, I'm gonna get that so I can look like John, and then realize that that we that we don't have it. And then, of course, I always like to mention uh first off, I um asked my wife the other day, because we had this discussion, and I said, How often do I say oak cripers? And she said, Never. So if you want to get a shirt that makes no sense as to why we even have it, we have that. But my favorite is still I have no idea who John Olson is.
SPEAKER_02That's everybody's favorite, to be fair.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, which is I think what your betrothed is planning to wear on uh your wedding day. So you'll be in a tuxedo shirt, and she will say she has no idea who John Olson is.
SPEAKER_02I mean, that's the best way of doing it, and you know, I I do have a wedding day coming up, so therefore, all this scalarious merch being purchased would really help a brother out. That's all I'm saying. Go to crowdmaid.com and just search scalarious and get that merch. All right, and then you know, when you're doing that, you might want to be like, hey, you know, let's where where where do we find John and DW at? Well, you can find DW, DW Serene Comedian, on Facebook. You can find me at John Wilson Comedian 2.0, maybe on Facebook. You can find us both together. We're not a couple on on on Facebook, but no, we are not a couple. We are at the scalarious page. We also do have a scalarious Instagram, which I completely never use, and also a scalarious TikTok, which is about as useful as I don't nothing. I don't know. I got nothing right now, but anyway, we got all that stuff. We're we're everywhere. Just go to Facebook, go to scalarius, go to Facebook, go to DW, go to Facebook, and go to me, or if you want to, you know, and just give us a like a really cool little message, that'd be really nice. Something nice for change. Go to scalariouspod at gmail.com. And just remember, if you want to, and only if you want to, you can go back and listen to every single scalarious episode there is at buzzsprout.com. Scalarious. Anyway, all right. Uh DW, what do you think? You think we should um bring it on? Yes, I yeah, I I agree. You know, this is this is a special occasion. This is actually a guest, DW. We went we haven't had a guest in I don't even know how many episodes, man. Yeah, that's 10. We can't count Zach. Zach's not a guest, he's like a your third arm to you. That's essentially what he is. So, therefore, like you can't count him as a guest. So, um, so yeah, this is this is great, and I was excited. Um, I I reached out and I was like, Hey, you want to come on scalarious? Because I really dig what you do, and she's like, Skull scalarious, and then I was like, Yeah, and then I explained the whole thing, which is embarrassing for the most part, but it's okay. And then she was like, sure, why not? I got on I'm open on Mondays, but anyway, so yeah, um, it was a good little interaction, and I was very excited to bring her on so we can talk all the way from the Buckeye State. She is the ghost sister, Mandy Metzger. Mandy, how are you?
SPEAKER_01I am good. How are you guys?
SPEAKER_02Good, pretty, pretty good. So, how were things over in Ohio?
SPEAKER_01Cold.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_01We have crazy weather over here too. It it was uh 70 yesterday and today it was snowing.
SPEAKER_02Nice. I mean that that checks, it really does. You're in you're up there close to the lake, yeah, aren't you?
SPEAKER_01Uh Lake Erie's probably about two hours.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so you're far enough away, you're you're not gonna get that lake effect snow then. You're good. You're just gonna get regular snow, not that horrible stuff. All right. Well, that's cool. All right, so we brought you on basically to talk about the paranormal. So we we kind of should get going on this. So I first of all, um you're the ghost sister, right? So take us back and explain that because you you told me on an email what was going on, but maybe you should like you know give these guys uh you know a catch-up or whatever. Ghost sisters, and then move on from there. So when did you make your when you know when did you start?
SPEAKER_01I started uh Ghost Sisters in 2017 while I was working in law enforcement. Um I wanted to go to this uh prison, um, the Mansfield Reformatory. And so I got a ticket to go, and I realized, oh, wait a minute, I'm going alone. I don't have anybody to go with me. So I told my sister, you know, I'm like, hey, you need to get a ticket because I don't want to go to this location alone. And we weren't paranormal investigators at the time, but um, I've always been intrigued with it. So anyway, we go there and we ended up capturing um some really cool evidence. I mean, the lights wasn't even off, and we were down in solitary way, everybody was outside. And I, you know, I'm down there and I'm like, hey, I'm like, I'm an officer. Does anyone down here want to talk? You know? Next thing you know, um, at the time we didn't know it, but there was an um apparition at the end of the hallway. It was all in black. You could see the outlining, and there was also a shadow figure in the middle of the hallway. And I was hearing a guy, he kept saying, Hey, hey, but I didn't see him, I was hearing him. Well, uh, my sergeant had let me use his GoPro because I only had a spirit box, um, an SB7 spirit box, and I had a geophone, which is an EMF um detector. So I didn't really have a lot, and I didn't really even understand how it all worked. But anyway, we had a good night. Um, the next day, my sergeant reviewed it, and he's like, hey, you guys got something right in the beginning. I was like, what? So he took the clip, sent it to me, and I said, Oh my gosh. So it was a week later. I was I was hooked. I knew I was supposed to be doing this, and I was at work on break, and I I called up my sister. I said, Hey, I'm starting up a team, and I said, and you're joining me. So it went from there, and I had other women on there with me, and throughout the years, they, you know, they went their own way, and then eventually I decided I wanted to make it just me and my sisters, which I have five sisters, and only two of them was on my team.
SPEAKER_00Oh wow.
SPEAKER_01The three of us, and it was the original Ghost Sisters. But it it's never been my you know, my sister's passion. It's always been mine. They were just there to help me, and they didn't know what was going to turn into this. They didn't know I was gonna take it so serious. And, you know, so just anyway, a couple days ago, I made the decision to change the name because my sister has her own business and she travels. Um, but she's been with me the longest. My other sister, she's only been with me maybe three and a half years, but she works in factory and she doesn't want to go as much as me because she don't want to waste her weekends, she says. And my other sister would go as needed. So I just eventually thought, well, I just need to make it me and brand my name. And because I do go out there all the time, and you know, so that's what I ended up doing, which they're fine with, they were okay with it. Just every now and then they said they would go if I needed, you know.
SPEAKER_02So but go keep the ghost sisters, yeah.
SPEAKER_01But that clip landed us on TV. Um, I my friend, she was a producer at the time for the Ghost Brothers, and it was the weirdest thing, you guys, because I knew something told me to hold on to that clip, don't lose the clip, and I was just okay. So, anyway, years later, my friend she knew I had this video, she knew I worked in law enforcement. They were looking for not paranormal investigators, they were just looking for officers who worked in law enforcement who had an encounter at that location. Well, even though I worked, I was paranormal investigator, but I wasn't at the time when I captured that evidence. So that evidence landed us on the Ghost Brothers on um Lights Out season two, The Shank. So it was pretty cool.
SPEAKER_02Nice. So okay. You've been at this for eight years, you said uh nine years. Nine years, okay. So what is your favorite investigation in that time?
SPEAKER_01Oh gosh, there's so many investigations. Um, I can't really I can't really say there's one favorite, but there is a spot that we really do love, and it's called the Yura Shrine, and it's located in Tennessee, Bristol, Tennessee. Because it's different, it has like everything that paranormal investigators want. It has everything from witches, um, non-human things, um, I mean, spirits from today, spirits from the past. It has uh everything. I mean, there's so much more. It has elementals, it just got so much going on.
SPEAKER_02How many times have you been there?
SPEAKER_01We are ambassadors of the shrine. I have been there like my god, I've been going there like six years now. So I don't know, maybe maybe 40 times.
SPEAKER_02Wow. Something new every time?
SPEAKER_01Yes, yes. I mean, because the guy who owns the property, he's the caretaker of it also. He built this, he like built it, and he, and it's weird because he worked in law enforcement too. So he was drawn to me because I'm a medium and he needed somebody's help who was a medium, and that's how I met him. I was able to help him with what he had going on at his place, and he allowed us ladies to come and do an investigation, and ever since then we we've never stopped going, so yeah, he made us ambassadors of the shrine so we can go whenever we want.
SPEAKER_02Very cool. So you talked about you were in law enforcement, and I've always been interested in the stories of those in law enforcement that have paranormal experiences. So what what do you got? What what what is the craziest thing that happened to you paranormal wise while you were, you know, as a law.
SPEAKER_01I was working there?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Well, I've got a few. Well, um, I was working down in female housing and it was on first shift. I went down there to give an officer a break, and she had told me that she was um hearing some things down there, and this is like you know, during the day. And she she knew I was a medium and a paranormal investigator, and she says, Now I'm gonna go on break. Don't be down here, you know, talking to the ghost or whatever, you know. She said, Um, I'm already hearing things, and I just started laughing, and she goes on break, and in every room, um, every control room, officers are allowed to have a radio. Okay, and the radio was on, it was playing good, and nothing, nothing wrong with the radio. And I'm watching like 50 cameras, you know, I'm just sitting there. She had just walked out too. All of a sudden, my radio, it went into static white noise. And I hear this guy coming through the radio saying, Help me. And I'm like, What the heck? And then he says it again. He says, Help me. And I get up and I'm looking at this radio and I'm like, does somebody need help? And next thing you know, the music comes back on. And I was just like, Oh my gosh. It was really spooky, you know, because there is a lady that did pass away down there, but this was a man that was coming through. It wasn't a woman. And I've always heard the female spirits tell me, they would say, Miss Cummings, it this place, there's shadow figures. We're seeing they called the the ghost cookie, is what they would call her. Um, the lady passed away there, she never woke up, and her spirit is still there. And the females would tell me all the time, they see shadow figures, they hear somebody in the bathroom when nobody's in there, and they believe it it's her, and they call her cookie.
SPEAKER_02So, what is the bathroom?
SPEAKER_01Huh?
SPEAKER_02Always the bathroom.
SPEAKER_01Like well, water is a kinetic energy source for spirit, so I I'm not surprised.
SPEAKER_02I just why is that never the pool? You know what I mean? Like, every time we ever talk to anybody, they're like, Well, you know, and then there's a bathroom, it's in it, it's never at the hot tub, it's never a pool, it's just it's always in the bathroom. It's kind of funny. Um okay, so maybe not so much on paranormal. Okay, have you ever been when you were like you were with um I was gonna say prisoner? I don't know if that's the exact term you want to use, but there you go. When you were with an inmate, and something happened to you then.
SPEAKER_01Um, a lot of times the females, when they would come in, they'd need a female um officer would be called down into booking to pat down the female, and we would have to shower the female out. A lot of times, you know, I did have a lot of their family members coming to me, and I wasn't supposed to, you're not supposed to talk about stuff like that at work, but they all knew I was into this, and I would just tell them, you know, hey, so-and-so is coming through, you need to blah, blah, blah, you know. But there was this one time I was there and I was working out in female housing, and I knew there was something down there with me. And it was on the weekend. I had an investigation, so I brought my clothes to work because I was going to change in the locker room and go straight there. And once I was done with my shift, I go to the locker room. And as soon as I got into the locker room, nobody's in there but me. I hear something like some like a little pebble like hit the locker and you hear you could hear it bouncing off of it. Ting. And I was like, what the heck was that? And I just knew something was in there with me. So I go to the restroom, and when I was in the restroom, I hear something fall over. And I was like, what the heck? I come out to wash my hands. And what had happened was something knocked over the um the soap into the sink. And I was like, oh my gosh, something something's here. I was like, no. So anyway, I get ready, I head over to the location, and um, everyone, my team meets me there, and I tell them what's going on. I said, I think something's following me from work. And so we go down in the basement, we're investigating, and I'm sitting down there, and all of a sudden I asked the spirit, I said, Do you know my name? And this guy came through, and I'm talking loud and clear. He says, Metzger, very loud, and that's my maiden name. And who called you by your last name? Inmates. Inmates are the only ones that call someone like me, you know, by my last name. And I said, Oh my gosh. I said, I knew it. I told you guys something was following me. And there was another time we got to go to the common police courthouse and investigated there, which I transported a lot of inmates, males and females there, captured some EVPs with them calling me by my last name. It was pretty cool. But yeah, I always had something like that going on. I'd I'd be sitting in control in the control room, and I would hear in my mind, they would say, signal five. And I'm like, oh God, please, no signals. Because once you get a signal, all hell's breaking loose. Everything, everybody's rushing everywhere from up front all the way to the secure, um, secure side, you know, and it's just what it's just crazy. So it happened. Soon as I heard it, wasn't even four or five seconds later, boom, they're calling a signal. And I said, Oh my gosh. So I always had things like that happening, or I knew there was gonna be it was gonna be bad when I'd worked down in mail housing, you know. One time I, as soon as I got into the control room, I walked in, and this was on first shift. As soon as I walked in, boom, this thing just flew off of the shelf. And I was like, what the hell's going on? You know, but it was just so active. And I working there throughout the years, I witnessed a lot of deaths, and I also saved a lot of people. But yeah, so that the place is very haunted, very, very active. The inmates, even the males, would talk about, you know, there's shadows and stuff going on, and we'd always see weird stuff on camera. Scary stuff. I mean, it was pretty scary.
SPEAKER_02Do you think that is kind of the commonplace? Like, do you think all jails and prisons are haunted?
SPEAKER_01I do. I really, really do because of all the negative stuff and that they just can't handle what's going on. See, jail is worse than the prisons in a way, because jail, they come in, they don't know what's happening, they don't know how long they're going to be there, and they they freak out, they can't reach their families, they don't have money on their books, you know, it's just a big old thing. And and especially if they're um a repeated fender, they done something bad, and then they're like, oh, they're they know they're going away for a while. So just sitting there for up to a year or two can be really bad for them because they're going through all these quartz and the process, and they just it's just a lot on them. And some of them can't take it, and then they just decide to, you know. Oh wow, they did a lot, and we also had serial killers in there too. So that was bad.
SPEAKER_02Okay, talk about the you can't nope, no, you can't skip over that one. Um, are these no, are these uh like okay, you said serial killers more than one?
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah, yeah. We had men, women, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Are so you're talking like the okay, just so people that people that had unalived someone more than five, right?
SPEAKER_01In in basic, yeah, yes, more, more than five.
SPEAKER_02Here I'm I'm getting all like technical or whatever, but the um definition of a serial killer is somebody who repeats the pattern, and it's like more than four or five, right?
SPEAKER_01We've had those in there, yes.
SPEAKER_02Wow. Uh anybody we know?
SPEAKER_01Uh no, I wouldn't say they were famous, they were from Harding County. Um that no, not all of them.
SPEAKER_02No, okay.
SPEAKER_01No, there's some from uh there was two from um well Harding County is Ohio still, and then there was one, I think, around Mansfield, and he did his killing spree over there, and then he worked his way over here, and he was locked up at our facility. And then the guy in Harding County, he had, I think he did maybe I think he maybe three or four. Um, but it was bad. It was all women, and he was locked up at our facility, and then the other ones that I know of was just uh one, one or two.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so yeah, so wow, it's still that's that's yeah, they're bad.
SPEAKER_01There's probably more than I know, though.
SPEAKER_02That stuff doesn't go away either. I mean, that that energy or whatever, and then sit there and I'm assuming that these people are nutcases, so they're sitting there stewing, right? That's not helping anything. So yeah, wow. Uh, we're not politically correct on that shit. I will say nutcases. I know there's probably somebody out there that wants me to say mentally unstable or whatever, but no, we're gonna say it the way if they're serial killers or they're nutcases, right? It's not like it's not like some yeah, they're they're not well.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that's what I said. Nutcases. Yeah, okay. Okay. I mean, what's the I want I want you to get in trouble and not me. How am I getting in trouble? Who's gonna get me in trouble? Well, and you're talking to a bunch of serial killers right now, they might be looking for you. So okay.
SPEAKER_02I just want to let you know that John Olson is not my real name, so we're just gonna go with it. But his address is 1584 West Channel, and yeah, we're just gonna go with that. All right, Mandy. So all right, you you you you were with your sisters, now you're not. What are your I mean, so you just going solo, completely solo?
SPEAKER_01I mean, are we yeah, it's um I'm completely solo. Um, I do go alone some. I was going alone a lot of times when they weren't going with me, so and I'd investigate all alone, or I would I would just collaborate with other women that are paranormal investigators, or I go out with some of my my friends that are men that are, you know, they go solo, they're solo, so we just all would team up. So it's pretty much the same.
SPEAKER_02How many cases do you think you've had total?
SPEAKER_01Probably a hundred. Nice, maybe more. Maybe more. I'm just throwing that out there because 10 years. Well, it's nine years, so and we're we're pretty steady. It we probably go, I probably go out investigating. Well, I just did a five, I just went out in one week, I was out five times. Pretty much back to back.
SPEAKER_02So do you do just private? I mean, do you do private or is it all public?
SPEAKER_01I do residential cases, but they gotta be in Ohio. Um, we do travel all well. I am so used to saying that for my sisters, but um, I do travel all over the state, so I don't just keep it in Ohio, but only for um like businesses or mansions, you know, places that are open for paranormal investigators to do private investigations.
SPEAKER_02So if you do private ones like with people or whatever, why why'd you say only in Ohio?
SPEAKER_01No, no, I mean the residential cases I will only stay in Ohio because those don't I'm not usually there that long, depending on how serious you know the case is. I could be there two two days, um, depending, but most likely I'm there for just uh maybe four hours, five. But a place that I pay to go to for a private investigation, I'm there longer.
SPEAKER_02So that's why that makes sense, though, because you don't want to be picking up like if you're going and it's just you or whatever, and you have a case in up in the Appalachians or something, you're not gonna go out there for four hours or whatever. I mean, it'd be kind of cool. Appalachians are kind of weird, man. They're they're all there's funky stuff happening up there, so you might get some extra things going on, but you know, driving that far, I now I understand why I just don't Ohio's kind of a big state too. I mean, it's not small, so you're you're willing to go anywhere in Ohio.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Yes, and I do, and and I get some really good cases. I mean, there is some you know, Ohio is number 10 in the most haunted states, and there's a lot going on here in Ohio.
SPEAKER_02Um, eat wait, hold on. I was gonna say Eastern State Penitentiary, but that that's not in Ohio, that's in um that's that's Pennsylvania, I think. But the Ohio State Penitentiary, the one where they uh filmed Shawshank Redemption, right?
SPEAKER_01That's the one I was telling you where we we we filmed that. We got on TV. We're on TV over that one. I've been there so many times. That place is it's an off the hook. I mean, it is intelligent spirits are there, they are all over that place.
SPEAKER_02They still have the um they still have Andy Dufrane's cell with the uh yeah, that's kind of a cool little prop that they I I heard they had that thing on there. That's pretty cool.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, because you well, they got the they still have the the statues or the the mannequins of them up, and you know, it's like oh my gosh, walk around a corner and there's Andy.
SPEAKER_02That's pretty cool. That'd be awesome though. Tim Robbins. Hey, what's up? How's it going? Hanging out. Well, that's that's pretty cool. So is we're gonna do is there a place in the United States that you want to go that you haven't gone yet to investigate?
SPEAKER_01Um there's a lot um prisons, a lot of the prisons and jails that I haven't been to yet that I really want to go. Um so many. Um West there, there's one up, it's uh right in West Virginia. There's that uh prison that I would really, really love to go, but I haven't. I think they I hate to say it, but it's they want everybody wants so much money to go to these prisons. And even when I had my sisters, you know, with me, it we'd have to invite more people to help us get tickets, uh, not tickets, but to pay for the private investigation because a lot of places are like 1200, 1500, you know, so it's like you have to bring all these other people just to go.
SPEAKER_02Do you do houses like that? Like we have some people that are like uh um you know into the BBs and stuff like the haunted B and Bs and stuff, you know. We have you know, we've talked to many on here. Have you done that? I mean, have you investigated any of those supposed haunted houses that they have out there on the market for no, but I'd like to. Okay, and yeah, there was like who where you'd go?
SPEAKER_01Uh I'd go anywhere wherever there was a said to be haunted Airbnb. See, actually, I did hold on. We did when my sisters were on the team. We did. Um, a lady reached out to us. Um, she was in the process of remodeling the building she had just bought, and it's actually a grooming business, but the upstairs she turned into um an Airbnb, a haunted Airbnb. And we went and we got to investigate the whole place and spend the night very haunted. I mean, these spirits were cussing us out and everything.
SPEAKER_02Wait, hold on. Was this a DOS house?
SPEAKER_01No, no, it was uh it's it was um what does she call it? I can't remember what she calls it. It's just a dog grooming business that she has. I can't remember, I don't think she really had like a any particular name. She might, I can't remember, but I I just know that you can you can go there and stay at the haunted Airbnb and you can investigate the whole building if you want.
SPEAKER_02So, Ohio, have you been to Hillview?
SPEAKER_01No, not yet.
SPEAKER_02That's a good one. And we know them. We we we didn't. We'll say hey, we'll we'll maybe we'll tag them on here and say, hey, let's go do that thing. It would be I think you like it. It'd be a whole lot of fun. Um all right, let's get we're kind of going back and forth here, but it's okay because it's I'm kind of enjoying it. So um let's go back to when you were a police officer, okay? Um you know, there's there's always you know talk of you know, an officer like they're going to respond to something or whatever, and and they get somewhere and it's like you know, they hear a scream or some stupid thing like that, and the door opens and shuts, you know, blah blah blah, and ah, I'm freaked out, and then they run out, and then it's all in their like you know, uh on their vest cam or whatever, and then you know it gets on TV, and then you're like, is that real? Because AI is kind of bogus, you know, like you don't know what's going on, blah blah blah. Did you ever hear any stories of anything like that happening? Um see the reason why I say stories, because you know, you you were in the jail, but you know, like you had said off air that you you had originally wanted to be a patrol officer, so I'm assuming that you talk to a lot of patrol officers.
SPEAKER_01So I actually had um a friend of mine who was a deputy, and um, before they tore down the original jail, before they built the one where I worked, we got to go there and investigate this jail, and it wasn't a little jail either, not as big as the one that I worked at, but it was a decent size, and it was the um sheriff's department. Well, my friend, who's a deputy, he actually wanted to go, and he actually came and all dressed up in his uniform and everything, and and we just got a bunch of good stuff there, but he never talked about anything that he witnessed, you know, but he was really intrigued with it, and he wanted to go with us because of the fact that he was really well. Actually, he just talked about things that was going on in his house, not that he's seen or witnessed anything out there with his cameras or anything like that.
SPEAKER_02See, I would love see the police officers, firefighters. Uh, we did have EMTs on here, Brenda and Ryan, you know, like they that was really cool. Uh, but most definitely, um anybody, the first responders, uh, another one, hospice nurses would love to talk to them because we know, like, you know, that you know, getting close to going on the other side at that point, and that's gotta be trippy, and then morticians, I think, would be fun, you know, just sit like interview some of them. So, yeah, I would I'm always intrigued by anything that has there.
SPEAKER_01Was one time I was at work and I was working on a night shift, and one of the officers always seemed to be down in female housing. Um, but there was stuff going on down in male housing, just that it was just during the day, there was a lot of traffic coming and going, so not everybody experienced it until like second shift or third. But I I experienced things on first, but anyway, it was night shift. I was working, I was in the control room. Um, one of the um guy officers calls me from female housing, and he's like, he's freaking out. He's like, Look, Cummings, he's like, because he knew I was a paranormal investigator. He goes, I'm gonna tell you right now, he goes, I'm a little freaked out. I said, Well, why? What happened? He goes, you know, all the females are asleep. It's nighttime, and he was doing his round, and he got over to the blocks, and there's um there's I, J, K, and L. I and J, I is a dorm, and J, K, and L are blocks. L block only has four women in there. At the time, there was no females locked up in that block. Well, we have to look in every cell when you're doing your walkthrough. And he was in there, and he looks inside the cell and he says, Man, I swear to you, I seen some dark, distorted looking shadow thing down. It was like he said it was squatted in the corner and it was just distorted looking, and it scared him so bad. He didn't want to go back in there, so he's calling me up, telling me about it. Like, what do you want me to do? I can't come down there. Oh, it's just funny. He he was really scared though, he really was.
SPEAKER_02How big is he?
SPEAKER_01Oh, he's a good 6'1, and you know, he's broad shouldered a big guy.
SPEAKER_02Okay, that makes sense. Well, not really, but it it makes it like scare him that much, you know. Big dudes like that usually don't scare that easy. It's tiny guys like DW that you gotta kinda not that small.
SPEAKER_03Whatever. Come on. Hey, I'm not 6'1, but no, me neither.
SPEAKER_02Not even close, to be fair. Um the closest I got to 6'1 was horizontally by my fiance, who's almost 6'1, it seems like, but anyway. Um we were going back through talking about that.
SPEAKER_03Well, you did I hear correctly? You mentioned that you're a medium as well.
SPEAKER_01Yes, yes. I've been doing uh mediumship for 10 years. I started that before I started the paranormal, but I've been dealing with spirits since I was like nine and ten. That's the whole reason you know that I started doing what I do because I've been dealing with it my whole life.
SPEAKER_03So hang on. So to backtrack what happened around, did something happen around nine or ten? Were you, and I asked this because so many people we've talked to, this is the start of their story. Did you grow up in a haunted house?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yes. I didn't realize it was that haunted until my brother was killed. Um I was nine or ten, and I just knew that something was I was just scared of the house. Now it could have been because being young, you know, and I had I have a big family, and there was five of us and uh three sisters, um, two brothers, and then later on, more sisters came. But um in the house, I was always a little scared, you know. Um just felt like something was always watching, you know. But when my brother was killed at the age of 15, I knew there was something going on, but it was more him. Um, he would uh do things to scare me, and that was just him. In his old bedroom, you would hear someone walking around. You uh that we always slept with the radio on when we were kids, and um, the radio would go up and down, it would turn on off. Um just it was scary. It was really scary. Like I said, before my brother passed away, there was it was creepy in the house. It was just older house, especially in the basement. There was just a really odd, weird feeling in the basement, and it just increased after my brother passed.
SPEAKER_02I feel everybody everybody that that lives in a haunted house or whatever, or claims that they they were raised in a haunted house always goes into some form of paranormal investigation.
SPEAKER_01It's it's weird because it didn't start like I've always was drawn to it, you know. Um, I mean, at the age of 15, I'll never forget. I literally was just crawling in bed to go to sleep, and something crawled in my bed, scared the crap out of me. And I remember I was I went out and told my dad I said I'm not sleeping in that room tonight. I said, and he didn't believe in all that, you know. And I Like, I think I ended up. I can't remember if I slept. He's like, just get in your bed. You're not sleeping out on the couch. I can't remember if I did if I slept on the couch or if I got stuck going back in my bed, but I I remember that clearly something crawling in that bed with me. It it was really scary.
SPEAKER_02You want to hear a like a mind F, like to be fair. All right, ready for this? It doesn't matter where you sleep. If the ghost wants to be there, it'll be there. Like think about that.
SPEAKER_01Well, I know that now.
SPEAKER_02Oh gosh, you guys, the stories I could tell when we were younger, because I I I feel uh we're probably pretty close to the same generation. You said you listened to the radio, and so did I. I don't know.
SPEAKER_01The blitz. We listened to the rock station when we were younger to get to sleep.
SPEAKER_02So that's kind of the same thing that I had going on. I had you know spirits, whatever, had to listen to the radio to kind of like drown it out, and then eventually hopefully go to sleep, and then you know, whatever. So but I was sitting there, I was you know, I was sitting there thinking as you were talking about that stuff, like you had to be in the same, like you're a Gen Xer, I'm assuming. Yes, okay, yeah. So that's there, and then so when I was younger and I grew up in that stuff, I started thinking about the paranormal, right? And how I wanted to get into it and things like that, because I wanted to understand what the hell was happening. So I'm assuming it was quite similar with you, like you're just trying to understand what's what's going on with everything. Is that is that your journey into paranormal investigation?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I mean it yeah, pretty much. Um, I because everywhere I I ever lived growing up, I always had something going on. They they would literally mess with my electronics and or just you know, like crawl in the bed. I've had that more than once in my lifetime happening, you know. But I I didn't know it was, I felt like, is it the house? Is it me? What's going on here, you know? And I I mean, my family, I they didn't know how to help me. And I always grew up hearing, you know, my family talk about ghost stories, my my my aunt, my grandmother, um, my mom not so much. Um, but it got really bad for me um in my younger adulthood, like uh I want to say like eight eighteen, it got really bad from 18 on up to now. It's been one heck of a ride with these spirits. I mean, I could tell you some things, supernatural things that you wouldn't believe unless you were there. You know, it's crazy. And I figured there was something going on with me, and I knew, you know, that I had this ability, you know. I felt like the spirits were drawn to me for whatever reason, but now I know why, you know. Um, so I my daughters, my daughter was having issues with spirit when she was young, and I didn't know how to help her. I mean, it was it was terrifying in this house right here. It all began for her. I I couldn't help her. And one day my sister said, Mandy, she's like, and I didn't have a team at the time. And she's like, There's a guy over in Ireland, I think you should talk to him. And I'm like, and she's like, get a reading. I'm like, uh, okay. So I paid the guy to give me a reading, and he tells me right off the bat, he says, Mandy, he goes, you know that you you are a natural medium. And I was like, What? What do you mean? What are you talking about? Someone told me in my younger years I was a sensitive, but I didn't know what the heck that was, you know, until now. You know, I know. And he said, That's why you have all these experiences throughout your life. And he goes, if you let me help you, if you want, if you're interested in doing what I do, I can help you more to understand and blah, blah, blah. And you can help your daughter. And he did. He mentored me for a whole year, teaching me everything. And I was just like a natural at it. He wasn't lying. I just so anyway, I was able to help my daughter because she even to this day, she sees them all the time and hears them. I mean, she sees them like I'm seeing you guys, and it's really she don't want no part of it, she does not like it at all. She never has. We hear that, and after that, that's when I started the team. It was like a year later, went on that investigation. I was always being drawn to that prison because I was gonna go in 2007, but I didn't make it, and then 2000 uh actually went in 2016, and I didn't start my team until October of 2017.
SPEAKER_02Very cool. So you told us about Ghost Sisters. Now tell us what's next for Ghost Sister and where we can find you or where they can find you to see what's happening next.
SPEAKER_01Well, um, there's a lot of changes going on. Um, still, you know, I've got uh projects. I can't talk about some things, but um, I can just tell you that if you're interested in the paranormal and you don't you want to watch a live investigation, you can follow me on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. Also, Rainbow, R-E-I-N-B-O-W. But if you want to see the lives, you can watch me on uh Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube. I go live over there. Also, I have episodes that I film and you can watch them on uh my YouTube channel channel, Ghost Sister.
SPEAKER_02Very cool. So, what's Rainbow?
SPEAKER_01That is a new app, and it's been out, I want to say almost a year, and it's kind of like TikTok, but it's a little better because any money, any gifts that you get, they don't take taxes or anything like that out. You get the full amount, they give it all to you. The creator gets it all. It's it's pretty nice.
SPEAKER_02That's very cool. It is never heard of it. DW ever heard of it?
SPEAKER_03No, I haven't.
SPEAKER_02No, it's kind of crazy. Huh?
SPEAKER_03But I mean, we're we're old or we're we don't know that you know computer-y stuff, so exactly.
SPEAKER_01I trust me, guys. I am learning as I go. I've learned so much with computers. I never never was a computer person.
SPEAKER_02Well, I mean, I I am not good at the last text I sent. I was banging on a rock. That's essentially what it was. That was the last text message. It was um, no, I don't, I'm not.
SPEAKER_01I edit my videos too. I learned how to edit videos. I do pretty good.
SPEAKER_02Everything that I've ever learned about production of any sort, I learned from this show, and trust me, you'll know if you listen the first like five or six. Yeah. So yeah, I got way better, our equipment got better, and you know, it yeah, it took it took a while though. It how would you say 10 maybe 10 shows in DW before we started really hitting our something like that?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, well, and we also um we played around with different programs that we used, and certain programs worked better than others, and so far Zoom has been the best. Zoom has worked out, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Zoom has worked out really well. So I'm I'm happy we do this. Uh okay, so Mandy, this is what happens. We get to a point of our show. You know, you already told us what's happening next with the ghost sister. I think you should take the ER off and just be S-I-S-T-A. But um anyway, you told us what was next with Ghost Sister, and you let us know where to find you. So now this is the time where we do a little thing called this or that. So essentially, we'll ask you a question and you basically have two options. You could pick option C, but no, it's just just let us know what you uh what you what you want, and so we're gonna do that, but first I have to ask this very important question to my very important co-host. DW?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Do you have a this or that?
SPEAKER_03I I could probably pull up some old ones, but I'm trying to remember, it's been so long. Whose turn is it? I have no idea.
SPEAKER_02Like, we I don't know. We did each other last week.
SPEAKER_03Don't say it's crap like that that makes it sound like we're a couple and we're not. Don't use those terms. Jeez.
SPEAKER_02Um geez, I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_03I was just trying to yeah, we didn't we didn't do each other. Jeez. It's um I could let me see if I got an old this or that. I'm sure Mandy enjoys like you know the good things in life, but like uh Mr. Rogers, so I could ask her those questions.
SPEAKER_02But that's horrible. Go ahead. Ask her.
SPEAKER_03Um, well, let's see. Here, let me find good things in life.
SPEAKER_02You gotta be kidding me.
SPEAKER_03Oh nope, nope, that was the the oh here. This is funny. This is the remember the um around Halloween, the episode that got that was lost to the sea. Yeah, here's the uh this or that from that one.
SPEAKER_02Did we do another this or that after that? Did we? I mean, we did another this or that, but did we did you ask those specific questions?
SPEAKER_03Well, the because the yeah, these were all Halloween related this or that questions.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but what if did the next week when we re-recorded that we didn't ever whatever? Did no I don't I don't remember. It's okay, it doesn't matter. Even if you did, you were probably asking me, and it's not about me right now, it's about Mandy.
SPEAKER_03So okay, if you could please so yes, if you could stop talking, that would really help us out here. This or that, yes, and you're still going on, so you need to stop.
SPEAKER_02All right, let's go.
SPEAKER_03Okay, would you Mandy? Would you rather fly or drive?
SPEAKER_00Drive.
SPEAKER_03Oh, all right. So in the car, do you listen to Mozart or Led Zeppelin?
SPEAKER_00Led Zeppelin.
SPEAKER_03Nice, all right. Um chocolate or vanilla?
SPEAKER_00Chocolate.
SPEAKER_03Would you rather ghost hunt with the Ghostbusters or Scooby-Doo and the gang?
SPEAKER_00Um ghostbusters.
SPEAKER_02Oh, okay. That's about 50-50. Every time I ask, I think I ask, you answer it differently. Because it's how you're feeling on the day, I think.
SPEAKER_03I mean, I would not want to I wouldn't want to pass up ghost hunting with a talking dog. That's how I see it, but I just want the Scooby Snacks. Yeah, all right. You've perfected your time machine. Do you travel to 1825 or 2225? Do you go forward or back?
SPEAKER_01I think I want to go. Oh, I you know what? I wouldn't mind going back and seeing what that was about.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_01I I love older stuff like that. I love the movies, the nice, the kings, and and all that stuff. I I love that. So it would be interesting for one day. I wouldn't want to stay long.
SPEAKER_03All right. Umpsons or the office?
SPEAKER_00Simpsons.
SPEAKER_03There's no wrong answer there, so that's a that's that's that's a 50-50 one, also.
SPEAKER_02Depending on no, it's always gonna be the office for me, but whatever.
SPEAKER_03All right. Is it better to sing in the car or in the shower?
SPEAKER_01Um 50-50 for me, but uh I the car.
SPEAKER_03Okay. All right, let's do two. We'll do two more. Vinyl records or streaming?
SPEAKER_01Streaming because I can um I can stream anything, you know, old old stuff.
SPEAKER_03All right. Okay. Jeffrey Dahmer or John Olson.
SPEAKER_01Um who is John Olson? I'm trying to that name. Sounds familiar.
SPEAKER_00I think I just heard that name. John Olson. He's not a serial killer, is he?
SPEAKER_02No, he well, not yet, but he's yeah. I don't know. Depending on the end of this show, I might be.
SPEAKER_01Um, well, you know, I'm gonna have to say that you mean if I had to choose one? Let's say um I think one, like maybe the documentary. Is that what you mean?
SPEAKER_03Like a document companion. You're going on a road trip. Who do you want in the car with you?
SPEAKER_01Out of those two?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Oh my gosh. Well, okay, I'm gonna go with Jeffrey Dahmer because he he didn't want women, he didn't like women.
SPEAKER_03Oh yes, yes.
SPEAKER_01I don't have to worry about him, you know, doing anything to me.
SPEAKER_03That's true, right? That was the correct answer, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_01That might be John Austin. Oh, I'm so sorry. Now seeing your name. Oh, I'm so sorry. No wonder you guys are laughing at me. Oh my god, I'm so sorry. John, I'm so sorry.
SPEAKER_03Um, one of those t-shirts, John.
SPEAKER_01John, I would take you over Jeffrey any day.
SPEAKER_02It's too late. You already said I'm gonna take Jeffrey because he won't do anything to me. She's gonna be fine, she's gonna get out of that car riding just once.
SPEAKER_01I totally was not paying attention to his name. I was thinking it was gonna be a serial killer.
SPEAKER_02It's okay. I'm gonna just gonna tell you this. You won. That's all I'm saying. Like, I that's probably the best answer we've had, and and the funny thing is, is that we we got everything we wanted out of this one.
SPEAKER_03The thing is, regardless of what answer you gave, you put so much thought into it that it wouldn't have mattered. Like how much thinking you did, I was like, this is great.
SPEAKER_00This is like, not yet. I'm like it's like I know that name. Oh I ain't gonna say it.
SPEAKER_02Oh my, okay.
SPEAKER_03Well, that that that's a good way to end the show. This is a pleasant note to sign off on.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna, you know, I just yeah. I'm yes, he is speechless. I love it. I'm not speechless very often, but yeah, that kind of that did it for me. And it's all good though. I'm good with it because it was it was a lot of fun. I'm that like I said, you won. That was the best answer.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, ding ding. I'm the winner.
SPEAKER_02That's good. All right, Mandy. You know, I it was amazing talking to you. I really enjoy the stories, especially of law enforcement and and the paranormal. I like uh the idea of just a badass police chick going out and trying to slay up some ghosts. That's that's pretty cool.
SPEAKER_00I like it.
SPEAKER_02I'm glad you do. And we like you. This was a lot of fun despite the last five minutes. It's so cool. Like, I'm it's alright, I'll get over it. I promise. I promise I will. All right. Well, uh, Mandy, again, thank you very much for coming on. This was a lot of fun, and yeah, I you know, we'll uh we'll we'll speak very well of you for the upcoming episodes, I promise. It will be you are now a legend in the scalarious verse, and you will forever remember it.
SPEAKER_00So just a video clip of this.
SPEAKER_03Well, you never know. We might make it. I think it's I think it should be the moment she saw your name on the screen, the realization of like oh shoot, that's you. Oh god.
SPEAKER_02That was I don't know. I think I think the building up to it was the funniest part, considering the fact, like, you know, like, no, I don't know. Like Jeffrey Dahmer doesn't like chicks, so I think I'll I'll go with him because I know he won't do anything to me. I'm like sitting there going, are you serious right now? What is happening?
SPEAKER_03Or maybe it should be it should just be the uh I feel like I know that name that that should be the new soundbite for the for what brings us on. Uh all right.
SPEAKER_02Well, you know, we're we're we're getting over the we're done. We are done. I'm just saying this, we are done. But first, since we are done, I might as well. I mean, it's kind of throwing in a shameless plug. She didn't know who John Olson is. No one knows who John Olson is, so you might as well go to crowdmade.com and get a shirt that says I have no idea who John Olson is. Anyway, so go do that. And yeah, DW, are you ready?
SPEAKER_03I couldn't think of a better way to end the night than all right.
SPEAKER_02I bet you couldn't. All right, well, you guys have been amazing. We have been scalarious, and we are out.
SPEAKER_00Winter.
